A night at Galle face sea shore

When the word, Galle face, spells out what suddenly come to mind is a beautiful sea shore with huge grass ground and also The Galle face hotel. Early days the Galle face ground had been used for horse races, kite contests also as a place where people stay relaxing. In old gold days of Sinhala music there is a famous song namely, Yaman Bando wesak balanna, describes how the then people thought about Galle face ground and how they were at Galle face at twilight times. There was a loud outcry attempt of sell out of GFG by then government and due to publicity of media it was foiled. And it still safe for the all people of Sri Lanka. Even today people do enjoy visiting GFG.

When the time is night or else evening GFG is full of happening. People get flock to GFG and stay relaxing. Kids are really enjoying with playing kites. Lovers walk holding their hand and cuddling each other after long period of office times. In a nutshell it is a place where people drift their distress.

It was Friday, the weekend all office people waiting for and as well as I. I got a call from Erandaika (Bunty Bubbly) asking me to come to GFG after work. After few hours of shopping around CMB we went to GFG to stay free for few hours.

There are boutiques either side of the road, the way to car park. They sell ISSO WADE (prawn wade), barbecued chicken, Shrimp wade, ROTI and many. We bought ROTI, barbecued chicken and ISSO WADE for our dinner. It was superb taste that every Sri Lankan should taste.

The journey to the Nirvana

we set off from the Kesbewa at mid night around 00.40 am to Anuradhapura. our destinations was Anuradhapura Mahamewna monastery. it was a bongo van that we were traveling. from the begining we were keep interchanging the past memories. I had only my friend, Mahesh as an old buddy and others were strangers whilst they were friend of Mahesh's elder brother. we start singing songs as one of his friend started song but not in the rhythm. so I got the bongo and patted to the rhythm. we played a number of songs including classic, baila, loving, drama and so on. the clock was 3.30 and I felt so drowsy. so we stopped singing and went to sleep on narrow seat wrying the body.

Tharaka Vitanage, is the topic should be changed instead of what I titled to the post. we all were at A'pura because of him. he studied at Central college, Piliyandala subsequently advanced level he got through university education and had a degree. he was at every funeral, wedding, alms-giving and public donations. very talkative indeed no one could tease him, in short he was a very good derider and a teaser. in our words we call it "BYTE". even though he participated all events at first place never see he take alchohol or smoke among buddies who take those. Tharaka ayya (brother tharaka) was not my close friend but his young brother is in my bracket. his granny was my teacher who taught me at school, year one, ARALIYA class. so we know each for more than 20 years.

days passed by and suddenly we had a news that Tharaka left home without noticing a place and referencing a letter saying don't try to find me. later we got knew he had been chosen a path to bea priest and it was doomed at his horoscope too. so we were waiting a clue from him to see him. lastly he had sent a message that he is going to be a monk and its ceromony will be held at 9'th of october. I was amazed and with open mouth. so Mahesh and I planned to go A'pura.

I woke up around 06.00 am while the van was heading to A'pura. Sun was rising ripping down the dark as the Lord Buddha reached enlightment overcoming the sins.. "wait wait wait a bit" I yelled and got down from the van with my camera and captured the sun to remember the day.

Kottu

kottu.. I like it, what about you. this place located next to pillawoods Bamba. we were up to go Pillawoods but it was too crowded. so we had to find other option. so stepped out from Pillawoods to adjacent hotel.

it was toasted chiken with cheese. sound like top class but it didn't taste like my home town Kottu. anyway its tidiness is much better compared to the my home town (kesbewa) Kottu.

KBA Kottu starts to prepare with sound of "TAK TAK TAK TAKARA TAKARA TAKARA TAKARA". the chef start playing drum on the metal plate chopping starch and vegetable pieces assigning to the rhythm of the radio when the order is made. after little while we are unable to listen the song which playing on the radio due to the noise sound. mixed up with vegetable pieces plus egg is very delicious but no idea about the tidiness. sometimes the man who make the Kottu doesn't even wear at least a banion so there is a possibility to mix sweating to the Kottu (may be he adds some salt for fill up the lack).

normally a Kottu cost if it is chiken mixed, about 150 LKR.

Kottu is very famous in Sri Lanka as a fast food. there are also few songs for Kottu that prove how it popular in SL. Iraj weerarathne, a musician in SL sung a song, name,"Mata Kottut one" (meaning = I want Kottu too) became so popular in big music chart that "Rasa risi gee". and aslo Nihal Nelson the number one singer in any form of Baila has sung a song "Gas lipe yakada thetiya rath una". among the songs of Iraj and Nihal I like Nihal's one most. Iraj's song is also nice but I like Nihal's song.

my fish tank

I was up to buy a Aravana. Its so famous in Feng-shui which is in fabulous of china prosperity. since I said "mom i gonna buy a Aravana" she started screaming on me "it needs much attension you can't do that". so i gave up Aravana in mind and was thinking another suggestion....

I recently saw a nice fish that is glittering with blue color, shinny and looks very similar to famous fish species that Angel. The blue color fish with vertical stripes of black got my eyes on it. In the aquarium there were few traits of same fish but they were much expensive. one of them was 150 LKR. so I bought 16 fishes as I wanted to see a herd of same fish in the tank. I thought i would be nice and blue color fished will turn my tank to a beautiful sapphire diamond.

So its name Discus and it a sub species of Discus and namely, Blue Turquoise Discus. there are many beautiful color Discuses red, yellow, white, pearl in color. they feed by live foods like blood worms, beef. as blood worms are so expensive I suppose to buy beef heart to feed them.

at the moment I'm writing this post it is almost 6 months from the day i bought them. now they bigger in size than they were taken from the aquarium. I'm sadly say 4 of them died due to clear water while cleaning the tank. they needed to be shifted to the same water to a basin while cleaning the sophisticate water to new. and the newly added water needs to be little bit old to set the PH value. so i add old water that i collected previously to the new water.

well that all for now. I'm hoping to add latest snaps of them to the blog and write about more.
